The excitement is building as the 2024 Australian Handball Club Championships (AHCC) are set to take place in Canberra from July 17th to July 21st. This year’s competition promises thrilling matches, intense rivalries, and an opportunity for teams to showcase their skills on a national stage.
Overview
The AHCC will be hosted at two primary venues:
National Hockey Centre (196 Mouat St, Lyneham ACT 2602)
Gold Creek High School (130 Kelleway Avenue, Nicholls ACT 2913).
The competition will feature both men’s and women’s tournaments, with teams from across the country vying for the top honors. The winner of the men's competition progress to the World Club Championships in Egypt in September 2024.
Men’s Competition
The men’s competition is divided into two groups:
Group A: Sydney Uni, UTS-2, Saint Kilda, and UNSW
Group B: Canberra, UTS-1, UQ, and West Adelaide
Schedule:
Round Games: Wednesday to Friday
Semifinals and Placement Games: Saturday
Final and 3rd-4th Place Game: Sunday
Women’s Competition
The women’s competition features a single group with five teams:
Canberra, Sydney Uni, UTS, Melbourne, and UQ
Schedule:
Rounds 1-2: Thursday
Eounds 3-4: Friday
Round 5: Saturday morning
Final and Bronze Medal Game: Sunday
